Welcome from Pastor Nate

Your life is not an accident. You were created by God to find your joy and satisfaction in Him as the treasure of your heart. This is the ultimate reason you exist. However, each of us were at one time hostile to God and dead in our sins. But because of His great love and mercy, Jesus Christ reconciles believers to God by His sacrifice for us on the cross. Jesus lived the life we could not live and died the death we deserve. This is the hope that we cling to—not our righteousness, but the righteousness of Jesus Christ. Therefore we follow and serve Him in gratefulness and love. We are not perfect, but we worship a God who is!

When you visit FBC you will find people who are friendly, worship that is real, and a message from the Bible that you can understand. That is our goal for you and your family. We want you to personally trust and treasure the Lord Jesus Christ as your Savior and to grow in Him day by day.

If you have questions before you come, I hope that the information below helps! If you have other questions, please feel free to call or email. I hope to see you soon!

Stuff to Know

Here are a bunch of things you want to know but maybe don't want to ask....

  • WHEN TO COME

Our main Sunday service is at 10:30 AM. You may want to come a bit early to find a seat, and to bring your kids to the nursery if you need to. If you arrive late, don't worry about it. Sit wherever you want. Ushers are available to help you find seats if needed. We offer fresh hot coffee on Sunday mornings. If you would like to come for Sunday School, classes start at 9:30 AM.

  • Parking

We have plenty of parking with space all around the building, front and back. You are welcome to park in any of them. (However, the doors on the lower south side are locked for security purposes.)

  • WHERE TO COME IN

There are main entrances on the east and west sides of the building. Either one will bring you quickly to the Large Foyer, the Nursery, and the Worship Center. Both the east and west entrances have wheelchair ramps and handicap parking. The west entrance (away from M37) has a covered drive through that is helpful for unloading in bad weather.

The north entrance is locked when the service starts. The lower level doors on the south and other doors are always locked for security purposes.

  • WHAT TO WEAR

There is no dress code and we are not looking to judge anyone by what they wear. We will be glad just to see you. Some people dress up a bit and other people dress casually.

  • Welcome center

We encourage you to stop by the Welcome Center and say, "Hi! I'm new!" The volunteers there will be happy to take care of you and help you find your way around. They can also give you more information and answer any questions you may have. If you are new with kids, volunteers from the Welcome Center will be glad to take you and your kids to the right places!

  • The kids

See here for more information, but here is the short story:

    • All volunteers working with children are screened and trained as part of our Child Protection Policy. The nursery, toys, and all kids rooms are cleaned and sanitized after each use.
    • We have a quality nursery for children age 2 and under during the 10:30 AM service.
    • Preschool children (age 2 - Pre-K) can be brought to the Preschool ministry at the North end of the building prior to the start of the 10:30 AM service.
    • Kidz Blast for grades K-3 is available at the 10:30 AM service. Kids grades K-3 should sit with their parents for the first part of the Sunday AM service. We will dismiss them for the optional "Kidz Blast" program, downstairs, prior to the sermon.
    • Volunteers at the Welcome Center will be glad to help you!
    • Children are welcome to attend the service with their parents. If young children get too fussy or loud please take them to the nursery or sit with them in the lobby as needed.
  • WILL I BE ASKED TO...

    • Stand and introduce myself to everyone? No!
    • Give money? No. There is a offering box in the small foyer for those who choose to give.
    • Fill out a Communication Card? We hope you will, but this is optional. Communication Cards are in the pews and can be placed in the offering plate or brought to the Welcome Center. You can also fill out one electronically here.
    • Shake hands during a greeting time? People love to talk before and after the service but we do not have a "greeting time" during the service.
  • Bring a Bible?

Pastor Nate preaches from the English Standard Version (ESV) and we have copies of the ESV in the pews for newcomers to use. We encourage regular attenders to get in the habit of bringing their own Bibles. We encourage everyone to listen to the message with a Bible open because it greatly helps people to follow the sermon and to see God's Word being explained. Many people find it helpful to follow along with an ESV but you are welcome to bring another translation if you prefer. Paper Bibles are the best. We would not recommend letting kids use Bibles on their phones during service because there is too much temptation for distraction.

  • Good next steps...

    • Where to go next on this website? You might want to look at our Sundays page.
    • What can I do next to get more involved at FBC? Although Sunday mornings are a great place to start, we hope you will eventually get involved with a smaller group on Wednesday nights.
    • How do I become a Christian? Here is a short video to answer that most important question!
